As the weeks flew by, Sylvie and Caden fell into an easy rhythm living together at O'Connor Manor. They would spend their days exploring the sprawling grounds, picnicking by the lake, and lost in each other's company, talking and laughing as if they had known each other for years.
But as much as Sylvie tried to push the doubts and fears about Caden's past to the back of her mind, they lingered like a shadow, threatening to consume her whenever she let her guard down. She knew she couldn't keep avoiding the issue forever - eventually, she would have to confront it head-on.
